New Restaurants & Shops Coming to Downtown Ocala

Goldman Block, home to Mellow Mushroom and others

While we have all been excited to witness the ongoing construction of the historic Goldman Block, soon to be home to the Mellow Mushroom. Well there is even more to anticipate as three additional restaurants/bars have been announced, which will also be located in the new building: MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes on the first floor next to Mellow Mushroom; a Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar on the second floor; and a rooftop bar on the third floor that will house covered portions for day-time seating.

Mellow Mushroom is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2022 and MOOYAH by the end of the year.

District Bar & Kitchen

The District Bar & Kitchen will be a “full service, elevated sports bar/food concept, with

live music and entertainment after dinner services,” according to the grant application filed with the City of Ocala.

After various inspections, the original building previously home to Pi on Broadway, will be demolished and reconstructed. Demolition will begin soon and additional details will be forthcoming.

Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop

Recently announced new tenant of the Cyrus Oriental Rug Gallery, this floor-to-ceiling candy shop originates out of Pennsylvania.

With 11 locations throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio, we are excited and honored to welcome their first Florida based location on the Downtown Square!

Plan to open in second quarter of 2022.

Residential Development is Underway

There are two major projects currently being constructed in the Main Street District, Watula South Townhomes and the Lamplighter Legacy Project, an apartment complex. These two residential options will allow residents to call Downtown “home”.

Parking Garage

As our downtown district continues to develop, so will the need for additional parking solutions. Endorsed by City of Ocala staff and the CEP, a new parking garage location was presented before City Council on February 1st.

The City of Ocala has scheduled Public Information Sessions on February 16th at noon and 5:30pm at IHMC. This topic will go back before City Council on March 1st.
